Racism and bullying

Racism
It have been aserious problem here in our country. Labeling other races, thinking that the majority is the superior group. Well, maybe if I mention this, you might be thinking of the video that went viral a few months ago. Yes, I think racism is a serious problem. Kids, from the young age should not be thought to label other races (you know which one is typical).

“Racist violence, harassment and abuse are closely related to, and sometimes difficult to distinguish from, bullying” - from Antibullying.net

This morning, I saw this one person walking on the street, wearing a shirt printed “BEING HUMAN”, he was an ethnic minority, I can say that. BEING HUMAN, two simple words, but it means a lot. He’s just like us, a human. As simple as that. Maybe it was just my interpretation of that shirt. But from my point of view, why treated others based on their races? why not treat them like a human. Without races, the world would be just plain. You will not experience other culture, the wonderful colorful culture in this world. I am just giving culture as example that we from different races have contributed to this world. We NEED to respect each other. I’m not a really good writer or whatever. AND yes, I did label some of this ethnic minority because of my lack of awareness, but it’s not too late to change. It’s never too late to change and stop.

Stop labeling this people, stop calling names, STOP RACISM.

A little conversation

Hello, how are you guys doing this weekend? I really hope you’ll have a great weekend. So, I (Nina) had a little conversation with my friends last week, and we came across the topic of bullying.

So I listened to most of their stories about bullying. Their stories mostly started in Kindergarten, which I recalled they were about 4 or 5 years old, that was quite young to be bullied. So I came up with a conclusion, that bullying started NOT in primary school but since kindergarten. Could you imagine how young these kids are? How vulnerable they are to bullying? such a young age, I couldn’t believe it myself but this is reality.

And recalling from my friend’s stories, it’s quite shocking what these kids can do! One of the shocking moments was where my friend was given a ‘free hair cut’ when she was taking a nap in school! So who should we blame? The parents? teachers? or simply the mass media? The society, we ALL have the responsibility to stop bullying, to teach our children from the young age that bullying is wrong. I bet most of this children do not know what they were doing. I honestly, have no idea why this kids bully. Maybe I will find an answer soon but bullying needs to stop NOW. Because if we don’t stop it from the early stage, it will get more severe when they become older. I was being bullied when I was in Secondary school, and we agree that a victim can become a bullies (for example, myself, I was being bullied and I bully people - not that much, BUT it’s still bullying!)

So, tell everyone and yourself, bullying is never acceptable. Tease? but it must be with LOVE. Why bully when you can love?

Good Morning #Brunei , so, how about we stop judging each other based on their appearance because it doesn’t make us any nicer or cooler and ‘let love in’ ?
